I have been waiting patiently for this project to drop since I first heard about it. The merge of these two incredibly soulful, and talented individuals, Yasiin Bey (formerly Mos Def) and Marvin Gaye. Produced by Amerigo Gazaway the New"Soul Mates" series unites these two artists for a dream collaboration appropriately entitled "Yasiin Gaye". Gazaway produced the album from deconstructed samples of Gaye's Motown classics, Bey's callous flow and new organic arrangements. The soul oozing out of my speakers is down right Hypnotic.
